MEET OUR STAFF

Richard Hubbard, Senior Pastor
Richard Hubbard was born in Prenter,
W. Virginia on Oct. 23, 1936,
the second of four children. His father was a coal miner who began working in
the mines at the young age of 13. He would work in the mines for 32 years
before yielding to an early death. Many of Richard’s sermons today are
flavored with reflections about his father and their relationship.
Richard joined the United States Air Force shortly after graduation
from Sherman High School in Prenter.
During High School, he had become an
outstanding athlete that would lead to many opportunities in athletic
competition during his 22 year military career. His tour would take him
overseas for nine of those years; serving two years in Izmir,
Turkey;
three years in Wiesbaden, Germany, and three years in Tokyo, Japan.
The
remaining year was spent in Laos
during the Vietnam war.
Richard married Dee Williams on Feb. 28, 1959. Their only son
Richard, was born in Tokyo,
Japan, and three foster
children graced the
home of Richard and Dee as young Richard grew
up.
Following his retirement from the USAF in 1976, he became the Pastor
of Green Valley
Baptist Church
in St. Joseph, Mo. He pastored
there until
June of 1982 when he was called to Northern
Hills Baptist
Church.
Richard was saved at the age of twenty-two years, and even though
he did not realize it, God was preparing him for the pastoral ministry.
The call to the ministry came the last year of his military career.
Richard shared, "My calling to the ministry has been the greatest
challenge and the most rewarding time of my life. I am an honored man
to be the pastor of Northern
Hills Baptist
Church. As your Pastor, I
ask
you to hold me up in prayer, for the continued anointing of God on my
life.
Welcome to Northern Hills, and May God Richly Bless You".
